Is there a natural treatment for lower back pain?

    By admin

I have lower back pain, and have been looking for a natural back pain relief type treatment. What kinds of things can I do? Pilates, yoga, weights, massage are all good, but the only thing that really makes it feel any better is to go to the chiropractor. I get nervous about the adjustment because it usually hurts, but at least I feel better for a few hours, or a few days if I am lucky.

Someone suggested that it has something to do with stress and eating junk food, but I don’t know how that could be. anything about any of that. any suggestions there?

    Thanks

if you carry your wallet in your back pocket ,that could be a reason for the lower back pain or a pinched nerve too.

Buy a pull-up frame (maybe $100). Hang from it twice a day for a minute and it will stretch out your back (and arms). I’m 47, I do it, and I don’t have any back problems.

I found this great resource for back pain treatment, including stuff for lower back pain. This healer wrote a book on how to do chiropractic adjustments on yourself, but without cracking! It’s really cool, I had problems with my neck, and now I can just adjust it even if I am waiting at a light or something. The back adjustments are a little more, but I helped my girlfriend a couple of days ago, and she’s fine now. We just followed the instructions and looked at the photos to see how to do it.

It turned out that my neck problem was because I ate too much sugar, believe it or not. He knows about that too, and it is in the book. You can download it, and it only costs 37 I think, I just remember thinking it was half what my chiro charges me.

Here’s the link to a video of him telling what the book is about.

Yes it is stress and eating junk food. I see that so much in my massage practice that I have had for 20 years. I have had people who could hardly walk or were in such bad pain who quit their job or ended their stressful relationship get better immediately. I also see people on these new low carb diets who have had chronic tension come in with no pain after getting rid of all the junk. Sugar is the biggest culprit right up there with caffeine and then foods that people are usually allergic to like dairy and gluten.

You probably need a combination of chiropractic and massage. Adjustments shouldn’t hurt I don’t think. If you get massage right before the adjustment it should loosen up the muscles so that you adjust better. Physical therapy could help as well as acupuncture.

If people ate better and followed their passions and got more in touch with their feelings it would probably put me out of business as a massage therapist! or more would see how helpful massage is in preventing this kind of stuff.

I know that the more you go to a chiropractor, the more you will need to go in the future. It is like a drug, you’re body gets so accustomed to it that it won’t try to arrange it by itself.

The best thing to do is to exercise more in general, but especially in those that relax and unwind muscles, that are easy on the bones and joints and that work on muscle suppleness and flexibility. Consider yoga and swimming.

Furthermore, acupuncture and sport massages do wonders for anxiety and pinched nerves.

Some back pain may be attributed to a form of arthritis. There are some great natural products on the market including Glucosamine and Chondroitin and special joint formulas which have proven to work wonders for all sorts of joint pain including lower back. It’s worth a try!

I’ve just launched a new website with a page dedicated to comparing and informing people about these supplements and you can visit the site at http://www.healthycomparisons.com.au/arthritis.aspx . I hope the website is of use to you.

    Strange but true!

When pregnant I had lower back pain but didn’t want to take anything that would cause harm to my baby girl.

A friend told me that pomegranite has exactly the same properties as paracetamol and that eating it regularly would help to ease the pain in my back – I started eating 1 a day for about the last 5 months of my pregnancy and I didn’t have another single episode with a sore back (until the contractions kicked in that is).

So try it, might work for you.

I think you are right on target with Pilates and yoga as something you can do to relieve back pain, as well as massage.

An easy thing to do that is effective is to lay on your back on the floor. Bring your knees to your chest the best you can and hold them. Now, rock slowly back and forth for a minute or two.

If you feel you want to go to a chiropractor and do not like the “popping” adjustment, find a chiro that uses an activator. An activator is a small device that will adjust the alignment of your back with no more than a small “ping” sensation on your back. NO PAIN!

Stress can be the culprit for some of your pain. Stress causes our muscles to tighten, whether we realize or not. Also, our diet of junk food can also negatively effect us. A close watch on what you eat will certainly help. (you are what you eat). By not providing proper nutrition for your body can cause stress in your system and tighten muscles. good luck K
