you cant cure anything with pain medicine, it just suppresses the symptoms temporarily. You need a chiropractor to fix that. But until then I take tramadol or ultracet. they are non habit forming but you need a prescription. otherwise i might suggest excedrine tension or extra strength tylenol if you have to get something over the counter. but its worth the money to go to the doctor and the chiropractor

Get a neck/back rub done. Dont go for medication.
Your nerve is tense, only a massage will help. Medication will temporarily dull the pain but will not cure the problem.
You need to get a physical massage done to help relieve the muscle.

Acupuncture is very good for this or a deep heat massage.
